Vide Cor Meum - Patrick Cassidy

In the movie 'Hannibal', the sequel to 'Silence of the Lambs', there's a scene where the titular Hannibal Lecter attends the Opera and this song plays. I always wondered what opera it was from. When I googled it, I found out that the music was written specifically for the movie. It's a sonnet from Dante, put to music. How fitting. The song has an eerie, dreamy feeling, and it's a bit foreboding. Spoiler alert: Hannibal sees the inspector in the opera, and pretty soon after, the inspector meets his end at the hands of Hannibal.
