The Promise - Anneke Van Giersbergen, Globus

Funny that today's song is titled 'The Promise', as I've broken my promise to you, my dear readers (oh that makes me sound old). Spend the past couple days in bed with Covid, unable to write blogposts or even listen to music properly. One ear got clogged a bit and everything sounded muffled on my left side, pretty fubar.

So my streak is broken, but not to fear, I will start again, and we'll start of with a great one-two-punch by Globus, a Dutch band that writes epic music. Epic in the old meaning of the word: "heroic or grand in scale or character". It features a great build up, some excellent vocal work and is just a pleasure to listen to.
