Katy on a Mission - Katy B

Katy B will always have a special place in my heart. I'm a big fan of her: her voice combined with those drum and bass beats, it just works!

She was scheduled to play on Pukkelpop 2011, the year a storm ravaged through the festival site. I was there, and I wanted to see her, so I went for a quick dinner before her show and that probably saved me from the worst of the disaster. Because right when I was having dinner in the backstage dining tent for the volunteers (I volunteered for almost all the festivals in those days, supervising the camping at night and free access to the festival by day) the storm hit. The tent was shaking heavily, but it kept standing. Some others didn't.

Me being a fan of Katy B saved me from the disaster. I didn't get to see her that day, all concerts got cancelled after the storm. And I never got the opportunity to see her again live. So that's why she'll always have a special place in my heart.
