How You Like That - Blackpink

So, how you like that? Stretching, stretching and stretching my musical tastes just a little further. We haven't had k-pop yet right?

Always on the lookout for something new, Blackpink has been in my social feeds lately, and I bumped upon a bunch of k-pop albums in a physical store today. Literally bumped into them! My 2 year old son made some of them fall on the floor and I had to pick them up and apologize to the store clerk and everything!

Anyway, I was fascinated by the big boxes of k-pop albums. Western music comes in a square box, and if you're lucky there's a little booklet in with some pictures and a cover and some additional artwork and/or band picture or something. K-pop is nothing like that! They have huge boxes, the size of books that contain (as I've figured out after watching a couple unboxing videos on the interwebz) a bunch of pictures and artwork accompanying the album. More like concept artwork for the album, to detail the theme and concept of the album, deepening the experience and connection to the artist and album. Nice! Western artists could learn for this to boost their physical sales I recon.

So today's song: Blackpink's number 1 song on Spotify. It's catchy, I like!
