Evil Genius is a RTS game in which you are the titular 'Evil Genius' and you build a base on a deserted island and try to take over the world. The forces of justice are always trying to infiltrate your base, so you build traps to keep them away from your evil doomsday machine that you use to keep the world hostage for 1 million dollars!

The game is filled with references to Austin Powers, James Bond and other 60's villain movies. All the tropes are there: deserted island base, doomsday laser, sharks with frikkin' lasers attached to their heads. The game released in 2004. I was 14, broke and wanted to play this game so badly. I played the demo for hours, and I pirated the game and played it dozens more hours that way.

A couple years later it released on Steam, and I bought it there. And played it a couple more dozen hours. Then lockdown hit in 2020 and I played it again for a couple more dozen hours.

Then in 2021, after more than 15 years, the sequel released: Evil Genius 2! It's everything the original game brought, with better graphics and with an updated title track. That track is what we'll be listening to today. It just oozes the mood of 60's bond movies. I love it. It fits the game so well. If you're ever in the mood for a great game, consider picking these up, they're great!
